The Human Rights Writers Association of
Nigeria (HURIWA) has blamed President
Muhammadu Buhari for making Nigeria an
Islamic country.
The group claimed that Minister of Interior
Abdulrahman Dambazau breached the Nigerian
Constitution by taking by taking orders from
a private religious leader – the Sultan of
Sokoto in extending a national holiday to mark
the Eid-el-Fitr from two to three days.
Daily Post reports that HURIWA also slammed
the Nigerian government for creating doubt
and causing commotion to the businesses and
the private sector by the one-sided and
unprepared announcement of one more day to
mark the end of the Ramadan fasting.
