SLAY Festival 2018 was about inspiring women, but it was also about hot fashion. And we mean this literally. The February heat has been legendary and it didn’t spare us that day at all.

The SLAY Festival 2018 held at the Tafawa Balewa Square so the sun was shining on us in all its glory and heat. But you trust our ladies, they don’t play at all. They came very ready for the heat and managed to deliver their own doses of hotness.

Here are three fashion tips from the SLAY Festival 2018 about dressing for the heat

The less you wear the better
This is not the time for capes or blazers, unless you want to be like grilled chicken. Shorts, tank tops, chiffon dresses and loose jumpsuits, that’s the way to go. Also black is probably a bad idea, unless you’re bold enough to do it like Bonang.

Get those sunnies out
Not only is the weather hot, the sun is also blazing. So baby girl, protect your eyes o, don’t be told. Get yourself a cute pair of sunnies. They don’t have to be Ray Bans, but make sure they’re good enough to protect your eyes without blocking out necessary light.

Lose the heels
This is not the time to be rocking your six inch heels outside, unless you absolutely have to. Free yourself, and your feet, by wearing cute slippers, sandals, ballet flats and even white sneakers. Your feet will thank you for it.

Stay fly ladies, and don’t forget to wear sunscreen because under this February sun, black dey crack o!
