Ogun State government has said the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has accredited more than 42 courses for the new Ogun State Polytechnic in Ipokia, in the Yewa axis of the state.

Governor Ibikunle Amosun announced this while inspecting the proposed site of the polytechnic, at Iwuku, in the Ipokia local government area of the state, along with the technical team set up to midwife the institution.

Amosun said the officials of NBTE will also visit the site, to inspect the construction work done on the project in October

The governor, accompanied by Deputy Governor Yetunde Onanuga and some members of the State Executive Council, confirmed that the ground-breaking of the project will take place on Friday.

Addressing the people of the area, Amosun assured them of adequate compensation, if anybody’s property, farm land or farm produce is affected by the construction of the polytechnic.

Amosun attributed the siting of the project in Ipokia to its closeness to border towns linking the state with Benin Republic.
